Characteristics of Acrylic Water Dispersion Paint

Composition
The high environmental friendliness of the material is primarily due to the absence of organic solvents in the composition; the product is diluted exclusively with water.

The solution also contains dyes (pigments), binders (to ensure the strength of the coating), fillers (usually talc, chalk or marble flour).

Sometimes, during production, flame retardants (substances that prevent the combustion process), driers (contribute to the speedy drying of the composition) and other additional elements that increase the quality of the coating are added.

Advantages of acrylic aqueous dispersions
Water-based paints are widely used in finishing works. These modern compositions have managed to outstrip their numerous competitors in the building materials market in many respects.

Water-based acrylic dispersions are odorless. When the fresh coating dries, only water evaporates, so there is no need to leave the living quarters during the renovation.
The composition dries very quickly (from 30 minutes to 2 hours), so you can update the walls in the room in just one day, having time to apply and dry the required number of layers of dye.
The material has good hiding power (from 200 to 400 ml per 1 square meter), the consumption of the product is low.
After evaporation of water and the formation of a hard protective film, the coating acquires high moisture resistance. The coloring agent is suitable for finishing bathrooms and kitchens; finished surfaces become washable.
Water-dispersion paint does not interfere with the natural circulation of air, it is absolutely vapor-permeable, which allows walls and ceilings to "breathe"; this property prevents the appearance of mold in rooms.
The lack of reaction to ultraviolet light guarantees the stability of color brightness over time.
The material is resistant to temperature extremes and fireproof.
It is easy and pleasant to work with acrylic water-dispersion paints, it does not require special professional skills and expensive tools.
The compositions have good adhesion properties and fit on almost any surface: concrete, brick, wood, plaster, drywall and even primed metal.
Acrylic water dispersion paint is suitable for both exterior and interior work.
The coating is resistant to abrasion; the service life of the best manufacturers' products reaches 25 years.

Disadvantages of acrylic aqueous dispersions
Water-based paint cannot be stored at subzero temperatures; under such conditions, the composition loses its properties, and the coating may delaminate. There are also several factors that sometimes cause difficulties when carrying out facade finishing work.

It is not recommended to paint external surfaces under the following weather conditions:

temperatures below +5 ° C will not allow the formation of a protective film and will lead to cracks in the coating;
the scorching sun (direct rays) impede the uniform distribution of the composition over the surface; the solution dries out too quickly, streaks, spots and irregularities appear;
the slightest precipitation will ruin the freshly painted wall; even potentially washable paint must dry for at least a day, then the coating will become durable;
acrylic dispersion does not form a film at a relative humidity above 80%; water just doesn't evaporate;
gusty wind contributes to uneven drying of the applied composition, as a result of which various visual defects appear.
