There are three main types of aesthetic breast surgery: breast augmentation, breast lift, and breast reduction.
Breast augmentation
Breast augmentation surgery (augmentation mammoplasty) is designed to change the size of the breast, improve the shape and contour of the breast. This effect is achieved with the help of silicone implants, which are placed under or above the pectoral muscle depending on the expected effect and the individual anatomical features of the patient. The most common reasons why women choose breast augmentation surgery are: small breasts, breast asymmetry, changes in breast shape after pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Types of silicone implants
Silicone implants vary in shape and volume. By shape, implants are round and teardrop-shaped (anatomical), round ones create additional volume in the upper pole of the mammary gland (push-up effect), and teardrop-shaped ones repeat the natural shape of the gland. The choice of one or another shape depends on your vision of yourself and the effect you are striving for. The volume of implants varies widely, it is considered that an implant of 150 ml corresponds to one breast size. The size of the implant is selected during a consultation with a surgeon. It is important to maintain body proportions so that the breasts look natural and harmonious.
Operation process, doctor's indications
The implants are installed through small incisions that can be made in the armpit, around the nipple or in the fold under the breast. In each specific case, the incision is discussed and selected individually. Traces of the operation in all these anatomical areas will be reliably disguised.
Breast augmentation surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia, after a few hours you will be ready to go home for further recovery. For 2-3 weeks you may feel a pulling, unpleasant sensation in the postoperative area, there may also be swelling and a temporary decrease in sensitivity in the incision area. You should limit physical activity for up to 4 weeks, the start time of training should be agreed with your plastic surgeon. After the operation, you need to wear special compression underwear (bra) for support, protection from accidental injuries and to achieve a longer-lasting effect. In everyday life after the operation, it is recommended to wear a bra with an optimal level of support so that the effect lasts as long as possible. After the operation, the breasts may rise higher than they were initially - this is normal, within 3-4 weeks the implants will shift down and take their position.
