Before installing the ceiling track, you need to choose the right model. Tracks differ in length, number of rows and can be made in a straight shape or with turns.
Select length
First of all, to select the right tire, you need to decide on the length. Our range includes tires with a length of 1.8 to 3.6 m.
Depending on how you will decorate the window opening, you can understand what length of the rail you need.
If the maximum length of the busbar is not enough for wall-to-wall installation, it can be extended using connectors.
For example, the width of a window opening is 150 cm. A tire with a length of 160-170 cm is suitable.
Number of rows
Ceiling tracks come with 1, 2 and 3 rows. The choice of the number of rows depends on the future curtains. If you plan to install the track in a light loggia, where darkening is not needed, a single-row track will do , on which you can hang only tulle.
Double-row tires are the most popular. The most common combination is tulle + curtains.
Three-row rails are used less often. Such rails are used in a bundle of tulle + curtains + lambrequin. You can also use a three-row rail to increase the distance from the tulle to the curtain, so that it is easier to move them along the rail.
Tire Turns
Turns for tracks are an additional element that is purchased separately. It is needed if there is not enough movement in a straight line when opening the curtains. This is relevant in rooms with corner glazing and when installing on balconies.
Tire Turns
Also, rail turns are used if the window sill protrudes significantly from the wall. Using turns, it will be possible to move the curtains closer to the wall along which the curtain hangs.
Method of fastening
The bus can be attached to the ceiling or to the wall.
Mounting to the ceiling is done using dowels or screws. They are purchased separately, depending on the type of base (wood, concrete, etc.).
The tire has special holes for mounting to the ceiling.
After installation, they can be closed with decorative plugs .
Mounting to the wall is done using special brackets, which are purchased separately. This solution is often used when stretch ceilings are made and there were no embedded parts for mounting the ceiling rail.
For installation, the brackets are attached to the ceiling rail to try out the placement on the wall. Then, markings are made along the holes in the brackets.
According to the marks, holes are made in the wall and the brackets are attached using dowel screws. It is recommended to install brackets every 50 cm to avoid the rail sagging under heavy curtains. If only light tulle will hang on the rail, then the step can be increased to 100 cm.
Additional fittings
To hang a curtain on a ceiling track, you will need special hooks . The curtain is attached to them through a curtain tape. It is recommended to use 10 hooks per 1 meter of ceiling track.
To give the ceiling track a finished look, you need to install end caps . Thanks to them, when opening the curtains, the hooks will not jump out of the track.
If necessary, the ceiling track can be decorated with a hood . It is attached to the track through a special tongue and groove. It is very difficult to install a hood on a fixed track, and in some cases it is impossible. Therefore, the decision to have a hood should be made in advance and attached to the ceiling track before attaching the track itself to the wall or ceiling.
